1. Problem characterization and requirements definition

The main goal of this activity was to specify the requirements for designing a Decision Support System (DSS) prototype that allows transport operators and authorities to improve the operations related to planning, monitoring and optimizing multimodal services of Urban Public Transport (UPT). For this purpose, a benchmark literature review was conducted in order to identify and compare systems for public transport management, and the indicators for the quality of service for public transport were identified. Functional requirements were identified and validated with specialists on transport management in a workshop.
